When I’m asked what a business is worth – I ask, are we buyers or sellers?

  I get nervous when someone says – don’t worry, it’s a done deal.

  You can’t sell a business to someone who doesn’t want to buy it.

  You can’t buy a business from someone who doesn’t want to sell it.

  A deal is only as good as the available alternatives.

  Every deal that looks too good to be true – usually is.

  All businesses that fail have one thing in common – they all run out of cash.  •
